Randy began racing bicycles in 1988. What began as an obsession became a way to enjoy a fit lifestyle while fueling his competitive nature. After over 20 years of competition, Randy has competed throughout the Southeast, taking top ten placings at races such as Tour de Moore, Belle Chere, Dilworth, and Michelin Classic. He has four podium finishes in SC State Road Race Championships in the Masters division. His favorite off season activities include mountain biking, snow skiing, and yoga. Randy credits his long time participation in the sport to his wife Marian who has always been, not only supportive but instrumental in his training and nutrition. Married for over 25 years with two teenagers keeps him on the bike just to maintain his sanity at times. Randy’s goals for the 2011 season are to contribute to team victories in Masters races. He most enjoys teaching new or younger riders the basics and intricacies of bicycle riding and racing. Randy’s favorite ride; that’s a no brainer, the Bakery ride to Saluda.
